Partnerships & Goals

As IAHE works diligently to integrate its programs across the state, we are also keenly aware of the benefits of partnering with fellow education organizations. To that end, we have established healthy, successful partnerships as a means to strengthen arts education opportunities for NJ schools and communities.

Artists-in-Education Consortium

Together with Arts Horizons and Young Audiences of NJ, IAHE is the New Jersey State Council on the Arts partner in managing the state's Artist-in-Residence Program. The group, named the Artists-in-Education Consortium, administers long-term artist residencies around the state. Residencies include a minimum of 20 artist days, professional development, and planning and evaluation sessions.

NJ Arts Education Collective

In conjunction with NJSCA and various statewide arts organizations, the NJ Arts Education Collective was formed to educate teaching artists about the Fine and Performing Arts Content Standards, Workplace Readiness Skills, new trends in education, integrating the arts across the curriculum, and school residency logistics.

Artists Mentoring Against Racism Drugs and Violence

Healing Through the Arts is a five-week summer program that serves approximately fifty students per year. The program consists of a series of arts projects and healthy lifestyle workshops, designed to foster a positive sense of self, strengthen understanding of discipline, develop tolerance for others and teach how to work as a team toward a common cause. ...more
